Nutrition Tips
Here are some of my favorite nutrition tips to help you on your journey toward better health and fitness.
- Keep track of your habits. MyFitnessPal is a great tool. Try it for FREE! Slow and steady wins the race. Make small and manageable changes and stick to them!
- Fail to plan, Plan to fail. Preparation is the key to success.
- Start your day with breakfast and a glass or two of water. Does not have to be big. Eggs, Banana, 1/2 of an english muffin, greek yogurt, to name a few options.
- Keep water by your side all day long. DRINK IT!
- Don't forget to exercise. Make this a priority.
- Make time for YOU.
- Cereal & Granola are NOT the healthiest options for breakfast. Choose something else.
- Start your day with protein and fat.
- Limit/Reduce sugar and alcohol.
- Try to delay drinking coffee/caffeine as soon as you wake up. Drink water.
- Get 10,000 steps a day. This is a lot harder than it sounds, so you have to work at it and get moving.
- 30-50 grams of protein with each meal.
- 4 strength training sessions per week.
- Go to bed earlier.
- The less sugar you eat, the less sugar you crave.
- Eat more fruits and veggies.
- The more muscle you build, the easier it is to lose weight.
